Harness vs. collar for dogs afraid of walking gear

If your dog is scared of having a collar or harness put on them, what should you do? Is there a type of equipment that is best for a dog afraid of walking gear? 

Unfortunately, there's no single answer that's right for every dog. If your dog is extremely sensitive their body being handled and having collars or harnesses put on, you need to weight several factors when choosing how to proceed.
